Song of the Week VI
Warren Zevon - Splendid isolation. This song has been on my mind lately.
The opening of the song features a nice harmonica bit, which then continues between all the vocals. Zevon’s lyrics were often quite brilliant, and this song is no exception!
He’s another singer whose voice I find to be beautiful. I remember when he died… It was in our local newspaper, and I was pretty shocked (as I hadn’t been following the fact that he never went to the doctor) and deeply saddened.
